Baseball Swept at Thiel

Greenville, Pa - The Bethany College baseball team took on the Thiel Tomcats in a PAC doubleheader Saturday afternoon. Bethany fell to Thiel 6-3 and 7-5.

Game One Overview

Bethany fell to Thiel, 6-3

The Bison got on the board first in the top of the first inning. Noah Rady drove in Ethan Young, the green and white led 1-0 going into the bottom half of the inning. Thiel answered the Bethany run to tie the game at 1-1. The Bison regained the lead in the top of the second when Tyler Alworth stole home, but the Bison wouldn't hold the lead for long. Thiel would put up five runs in the second inning to take a 6-2. In the top of the fourth, Tyler Frazee hit a solo shot to left field, to cut the lead in half, 6-3.

Game Two Overview
Bethany fell to Thiel, 7-5

The Bison struck first again in game two. In the second inning, Brandon Wagner drove in Tyler Alworth to take a 1-0 lead. However, the Tomcats would score in the bottom of the second and third innings to take a 4-1 lead. Bethany would cut the lead in half from a Neil Woods sacrifice fly that scored Noah Rady. Thiel added three runs in the bottom of the seventh to take a 7-4 lead. Bethany's comeback in the ninth inning would fall short 7-5. Seth Gordon doubled to score Nate Marko, then Kevin Roach flied out to leftfield to score Devin Braddock. Tyler Frazee hit an RBI single to drive in Seth Gordon. The Bison couldn't get another runner to cross home plate coming up short in the comeback.
