Bison Break Scoreless Drought vs Mount Aloysius

Bison Break Scoreless Drought vs Mount Aloysius

Bethany hosted Mount Aloysius College (MAC) for their 2024 home opener. The Bison offense was stagnant until late in the game, where they scored with just over 30 seconds remaining. Without enough time on the clock to carry the momentum, Bethany suffered a 3-1 loss to MAC.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • The Mounties scored an early goal within eight minutes, and another at the 30 minute mark. They carried a two goal lead into half.

  • The Bison had an achilles heel in Louis Bez, who ended up scoring all of MAC's goals. Bez ended the game with a completely unassisted hattrick.

  • Apart from that, Bethany had eight saves in the net split between Matias Caurtango and Matteo Pintus

  • Bethany started off slow, only posting one shot in the first half. That shot total ramped up to six in the second.

  • Bethany's corners were much improved this game, allowing for great angles to score in the box. The Bison were just unable to send a 50-50 ball towards the goal from a corner kick.

  • The Bison did manage to score on a corner-like setup. Ousainou Conateh was in the left corner of the offensive zone. He sent an assist to Tavier Stewart who scooted a shot past the goalie for the team's first goal of the season.

The Bison (0-5) will look to build on the late-game momentum against Muskingum (2-2-2). The men will travel for a 7 p.m kickoff Wednesday, September 18.
