Chillemi Scores Twice in Season Ender

Chillemi Scores Twice in Season Ender

GREENVILLE, PA– The Bison finished their season strong with a 2-2 draw against the Thiel Tomcats. Pedro Chillemi scored both goals for the Bison, including the tying penalty goal in the 60th minute. The defense played a tough second half, keeping the Tomcats scoreless to secure the draw.

Bethany quickly trailed 1-0 after conceding a goal in the 7th minute. However, they quickly reset the score with Chillemi's first goal of the game. Tavier Stewart pressured forward forcing the Tomcats to commit before dishing out the assist.

The first half was a great offensive showing for Thiel. They were able to snag another goal in the 18th minute. However, the Tomcats continued to hurt themselves with offsides, drawing seven calls in the first half alone. They took a 2-1 lead into half.

The Bison played tighter defense in the second half, not allowing a shot on goal. Consistent pressure by the Bison earned them a few quality shots throughout the half. None more quality than their penalty kick in the 60th minute. Already having one goal in the game, Chillemi took his hot foot to the line. He struck the ball with confidence on his way to his first multi-goal game of the year.

This was also the first game of Bethany's season where a single Bison has scored multiple goals.

Bethany averaged a shot per minute in the final five minutes of the game. Stewart took four shots, but was unable to find the back of the net on any attempts.

The Bison (1-11-3) finish their season with a draw. Congratulations and thank you to the seniors, who were a part of the last Presidents Athletic Conference Championship for the historically dominant men's soccer team.
