Swimming & Diving close regular-season at Chatham

PITTSBURGH (Feb. 3) - The Bethany College swimming & diving teams wrapped up the regular-season with an unscored-meet at Chatham Saturday afternoon. The event also featured competitors from Washington & Jefferson and Grove City and acted as a tune-up for the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Championships later this month.

Junior Cheyne Stresky (Oxford, Mich./Oxford) won the 200-yard backstroke with a time of one minute, 57.44 seconds. Stresky touched the wall over 10 seconds ahead of the next competitor in the event.

Junior Mark Tichenor (Pittsburgh, Pa./Brentwood) posted the low-time in the 200-yard breaststroke, finishing with a time of two minutes, 30.97 seconds. He also established a second-place time in the 500-yard freestyle at five minutes, 44.83 seconds.

Senior Alaina Geer (Greensburg, Pa./Hempfield) finished second in the 200-yard backstroke, establishing a time of two minutes, 26.81 seconds. Freshman Madison Cramer (Kendalville, Ind./East Noble) recorded a third-place time in the 1,650-yard freestyle, posting a time of 21 minutes, 22.73 seconds in the event.

The Bison will have the next week off to prepare for the PAC Championships, which will take place from February 15-17 on the campus of Grove City College.
