Bethany Swimming competes in tri-match at Penn State-Altoona

ALTOONA, Pa. (Jan. 21) The Bethany swimming team competed in a tri-match against Penn State-Altoona and Frostburg University on Saturday afternoon. 

For the women, senior Christine Pray (Canton, Mich//Canton) came in first in the 1650-yard freestyle, touching the wall in 20 minutes and 10.86 seconds. Sophomore Alaina Geer (Greensburg, Pa./Hempfield) placed second in the 50-yard freestyle and the 100-yard backstroke. In the 50-free, she finished with a time of 28.03 seconds, while touching the wall in the 100-backstroke at a time of one minute, 9.07 seconds. Sophomore MacKenzie Bosley (Buckhannon, W.Va./Upshur) placed third in the 100-backstroke with a time of one minute, 16.06 seconds. 

For the men, sophomore Cheyne Stresky (Oxford, Mich./Oxford) finished first in the 500-yard freestyle and second in the 50-yard freestyle. In the 500-free, he touched the wall in four minutes, 59.65 seconds and finished with a time of 23.36 seconds in the 50-free. Cameron Deitch (Fishers, Ind. / Fishers) placed third in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of one minute, 7.87 seconds. 

As a group, the men finished third in the 200-yard medley relay. Stresky, Deitch, Chandler Chafins (East Liverpool, Ohio/Beaver), and Mark Tichenor (Pittsburgh, Pa./Brentwood) combined for a time of one minute, 49.21 seconds.
