PAC announces swimming & diving preseason coaches polls

GREENVILLE, Pa. (Oct. 12) - The Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) released its annual men's and women's swimming & diving preseason coaches' polls.
The Bethany College men's and women's teams were both selected to finish sixth at the league championships at the end of the season. The PAC Swimming and Diving Championships will be held in Grove City, Pennsylvania at the James E. Longnecker Competition Pool. Longnecker Pool has been the home of the PAC Championships since 1990. The four-day event is scheduled for Wednesday-Friday, February 14-17.
Grove City secured five of six first-place votes and collected 35 of an available 36 points to claim the top spot among the league's women's programs. The Wolverine men's program collected three first-place votes and 33 of a possible 36 points to earn the top spot among the league's men's programs.
The league also named its "Swimmers and Divers to Watch" for the upcoming season, where a trio of Bison were named to the list. Junior Cheyne Stresky (Oxford, Mich./Oxford) and sophomore Chandler Chafins (East Liverpool, Ohio/Beaver) were named on the men's side, while newcomer Sara Ramirez (Tapachula, Mexico/Tapachula A.C.) was named to the women's swimmers and divers to watch in the league this season.
Bethany will open the 2017-18 season on Saturday, October 21 when they host Saint Vincent at the Knight Natatorium at 1 p.m.
