Judulang qualifies for NCAA Regionals at PAC Championships

GROVE CITY, Pa. (Feb. 11) - Sophomore Mia Judulang (Cupertino, Calif./Monta Vista) established a NCAA Division III Regional qualifying mark in the one-meter dive, as the Bethany College swimming and diving teams completed competition at the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Championships Saturday night.

Judulang registered a mark of 424.90 in the one-meter dive to place fifth overall and record a NCAA Division III Regional qualifying mark. She becomes the first female is school-history to qualify for an NCAA regional event in either diving or swimming. Judalang will attempt to qualify for the national event when she heads to Ithaca, New York on Friday and Saturday, February 24-25 for an NCAA Regional qualifying event.

Sophomore Cheyne Stresky (Oxford, Mich./Oxford) led the efforts of the men's team and set four school records in the process. He finished third in the 100-yard backstroke on Friday with a time of 51.88 seconds (new school record). Stresky followed it up on Saturday with a fourth place finish in the 200-yard backstroke, touching the wall in one minute, 53.50 seconds (new school record). He also established new records in the 50 freestyle (21.44 seconds) and the 100 freestyle (47.39 seconds).

Junior Alaina Geer (Greensburg, Pa./Hempfield) also established a new school record at Bethany during the PAC Championships. She registered a time of two minutes, 18.75 seconds in the 200 backstroke, breaking a record previously held by former Bison Alexi Pyles.

Nearly every member of the Bison swiming & diving team qualified for the finals in their events.

"The team swam great," said Head Coach Michael Viscardi. "I am really excited with the results with the team was able to produce. This is a huge milestone in the program's history. We are really excited moving forward and in the years to come."

The Grove City College women captured their league-best 15th PAC Title, while the Westminster College men posted their third-straight championship.
