Men's tennis drops matches to Frostburg, Grove City

GROVE CITY, Pa. (April 23) - The Bethany College men's tennis team was defeated at Grove City 8-1 Monday afternoon in a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) match. The Bison also fell to Frostburg State in a non-conference match on Sunday.
THE MATCHUPS
- Final (Sunday): Frostburg State 6, Bethany 3 (Final Results)

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The No. 1 doubles team of senior Chris Ray (Henrico, Va./Mills E. Godwin) and Drake Berlin (Washington Court House, Ohio/Washington) won both of their matches. They defeated Frostburg's top unit 8-2 and picked up the lone point of the Grove City match with a well earend 8-6 win over the team of Zack Sprunger and Andrew Graber.
- Ray played in a pair of three-set matches at No. 1 singles. He defeated Frostburg's Shasta Braithwaite 5-7, 7-6, 6-1, before being knocked off 6-2, 1-6, 1-0 (10-7) at Grove City.
- Berlin earned the other point for the Bison in the Frostburg State loss. He earned a 6-3, 6-0 win at No. 2 singles over Joey Cox.
UP NEXT
- The Bison wrap up their regular-season tomorrow, Tuesday, April 24 when they travel to Penn State-Altoona for a match at 3:30 p.m.
- The match will be played at Altoona Area High School.
