Bison earn NCAA Tournament bid; will face Wittenberg in first round

Nov. 7 – BETHANY, W.Va. – The Bethany College volleyball team will make its first-ever NCAA Tournament appearance when it takes on Wittenberg in the opening round of the Great Lakes Regional on Thursday, November 10 at the Van Noord Arena in Grand Rapids, Michigan at a time to be determined.

Bethany, 25-11 overall, clinched the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) automatic bid with its victory over Thomas More in the league tournament title match this past Saturday. The Bison will ride a 15-match winning streak into the tournament.

Wittenberg, ranked No. 7 in the most recent American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Top 25 poll, finished the season at 21-5 overall and won the North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) Tournament for the 10th-straight season to earn the league's automatic bid into the postseason.

The victor will face the winner of the Ohio Northern (27-3)/Millikin (26-11) match on Friday, November 11 in a regional semifinal.

Calvin College, the No. 1 team in the latest AVCA poll, was awarded the hosting rights to the Great Lakes regional and will face Pitt-Bradford in another opening round matchup. The winner of that match will face the winner of the Carnegie Mellon (25-7)/DePauw (24-5) match in the other regional semifinal.
