McKenzie named to AVCA All-Region Team

Nov. 10 – LEXINGTON, Ky. – Senior outside hitter Dylana McKenzie (Hopewell, Ohio/West Muskingum) was named an American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) All-North Region Honorable Mention announced the organization Thursday morning.

McKenzie, who recently became the first Bethany volleyball player to be named the Presidents' Athletic Conference Player of the Year since 1992, led the team and ranked second in the PAC with 3.51 kills per set and ranked second in the PAC with a .284 hitting percentage.

A four-time All-PAC selection, McKenzie finished third on the team with 64 total blocks (seven solo) and registered 88 digs on the season. The 2013 PAC Freshman of the Year currently stands at 1,634 kills and will conclude her career as the program's all-time kills leader after leading the Bison to its first-ever PAC Title last week.

McKenzie becomes the first all-region volleyball selection at Bethany since 2014, when her twin-sister Dakota McKenzie (Hopewell, Ohio/West Muskingum) was named an AVCA Honorable Mention All-Region.

Bethany will make its first-ever NCAA Tournament appearance when it takes on Wittenberg in the opening round of the Great Lakes Regional today, Thursday, November 10 at the Van Noord Arena in Grand Rapids, Michigan at 3 p.m.
