Bison Fall on Senior Day

The Bethany College volleyball team fell in four sets (22-25, 26-25, 25-18, 25-12) to Washington & Jefferson Saturday in Presidents' Athletic Conference action inside Hummel Field House.  

After winning the first set, the Bison dropped the next three in falling to the Presidents. 

Senior Anna Taylor finished with 33 digs, while senior Talia Gallagher distributed 24 assists in the loss. 

Junior Averie Braymer led the team with nine kills on 25 attempts and just one error. She added four digs and three block assists. Junior Lesley Sanchez and freshman Kaylee Doppelheuer finished with seven kills each. 

Freshman Ashton Thomas recorded a career-high eight total blocks – two solo blocks and six block assists. She also had six kills for the Bison.  

INSIDE THE BOX & NOTES 

  • Gallagher has recorded at least 20 assists in 18 games, including six of the last seven games.  

  • For the tenth time this season, Taylor has at least 30 digs. It's 17th time she has at least 20 digs.  

  • Five different players – Taylor (33), Gilliam (17), Gallagher (13), junior Andie Clark (10) and junior JaSona Belyeu (10) - all had double-figure digs.  

Bethany (8-17 overall, 1-6 PAC) travels to Chatham 7 p.m. Wednesday.
