Men's Lacrosse: Four Bison Earn PAC Postseason Recognition

GREENVILLE, Pa. – The Bethany College men's lacrosse team had four members recognized by the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) on Wednesday afternoon when the PAC released its postseason awards for the recently completed season.

Senior goalkeeper Andrew Smith (Erie, Pa. | McDowell) earned All-PAC Second Team honors. Smith finished the season leading Division III in save percentage (0.663) and saves per game (22.79). He finished the season with 319 saves. Smith set the single-game saves record with 35 saves against Westminster. He registered 20+ saves eight times this season. He currently ranks second on Bethany's all-time saves list with 840 career saves.

Senior Clay Yingling (Union Bridge, Md. | Linganore), junior Dillion Davenport (Fairfax, Va. | Fairfax) and sophomore Christian Funari (Wheeling, W. Va. | Wheeling Park) were named All-PAC Honorable Mention.

Yingling had a stellar season for the Bison. He recorded his 100th career point this season finishing with 55 points, 39 goals and 16 assists. He tied the single-game points scored record with 13 points (seven goals and six assists). His 39 goals set the single-season goals record for the Bison. He registered a goal in all 14 games this season. Yingling scooped up 57 groundballs and caused 23 turnovers.

Davenport was primarily the Bison's faceoff specialist. He went 160-for-327 on faceoff attempts this season. He finished with 123 groundballs and caused 17 turnovers. Davenport set the single-game record with 18 groundballs against La Roche. He was honored twice this season as PAC Specialist of the Week.

Funari was a force on the Bison defense. He set the single-season record with 35 caused turnovers. The sophomore defenseman finished the season with 71 groundballs and scored a goal and had one assist. Against Cairn he caused a season-high six turnovers. He caused at least one turnover in 11 games this season.

Davenport was also named to the PAC Sportsmanship Team.
