LAKE MYRTLE, FL. – Bethany played their third game of spring break against the Gwynedd Mercy Griffins. After establishing an early five run lead, the Bison fell apart.
Bethany started off fast. Grant Schaffner stroked a two RBI double in the bottom of the first. He later came around to score on an error.
The very next inning, Jaden Nestor-Fox poked a two run single up the middle. In a blink of an eye, the Bison lead 5-1 entering the bottom of the third.
A big fourth inning with a pair of home runs put the Griffins in the lead. The Bison had a one-out bases loaded situation in the bottom of the inning, but were only able to get one run across. That saw Bethany trailing 8-6 entering the fifth.
The floodgates opened once again for the Griffins, putting the Bison too far behind. Eleven more runs in the next two innings did Bethany in.
Bethany will play SUNY Poly tomorrow at 9:15 a.m.
