Base: Top Four Rake for 11 RBI
LAKE MYRTLE, FL. – Bethany finished their spring break trip strong with a run rule victory over the Mount Saint Mary Knights of New York. This game was the third in a row where the Bison posted double digit hits.
Bethany exploded in the early innings. They jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first before exploding in the second inning. The Bison peppered the ball all around the field for seven hits and 10 runs.
Jaden Nestor-Fox singled down the right field line, driving in two. Derek Black followed up the next at bat with his own two-run single. Grant Schaffner made it three in a row with his own RBI single, firing up the dugout and curating a massive inning. Other RBI hits include a Payton Davis two-RBI single and a Sonny Peluchette RBI double. Black later walked in a run, making it a three-RBI inning for the second basemen.
Starter JT Hubert was feeding off the energy. He threw four innings only allowing a single hit. The fireballer struck-out five batters, allowing a pair of earned runs. Reliever-turned-starter Hubert comes away with his first victory of the season.
When the dust settled, the Bison ended up winning 17-5 over the Knights. The top of the lineup simply raked, going 10-15 with three walks and 11 RBIs. That top four consisted of Peluchette, Nestor-Fox, Black, and Schaffner.
Peyton Davis and Mike Hines set up the top of the order nicely. Davis reached base safely thrice, going 1-2 while picking up a pair of walks. He scored three runs and knocked in two RBI. Hines scored two runs while going 2-3 with a walk.
Bethany will travel back home to host John Carroll next Tuesday. First pitch will start at 2 p.m.
