Bison Host Annual Invitational at Oglebay

Oglebay, W.Va. – Bethany College hosted their annual Bethany Bison Invitational. There were eight different schools participating in the event held at Oglebay Resort. Athletes played on Jones Course at Speidel Golf Club.

The Bethany mens' team entered two separate teams to compete for a title. Each team consists of five athletes whose score is tallied for a total team score. Teams play a full 18 hole round on a par 71 course.

On top of the two teams who competed, there was a group of Bison that competed individually. Their scores were taken into account for individual rankings. However, the designated athletes did not affect the team scores.

The "Bethany" group was only five shots out of first place through the front nine. Two Bison had a tie for the lowest score in the group. Jude Smith had a pair of birdies en route to an 83. Payton Hildebrand also shot an 83 with a birdie of his own. Samuel Phillips, Nash Hays, and Cooper Poe rounded out the Bethany group. The five combined for a score of 373.

The "Bison" group was led by Macen Bendermen with an 84. The freshman had a solid back nine shooting two birdies. Preston Lindsay trailed close behind with six pars and a total score of 90. The three other Bison in this group were Colby Vega, Troy Hixon, and Lincoln Pablo. The five combined for a score of 342.
