Bethany Team and Hildebrand Finish First at Geneva

Ellwood City, Pa. – The Bethany Bison return home as winners of the Geneva Quad Match. Along with the team first, Payton Hildebrand claimed the top spot among over 30 individuals in the event. 

Jude Smith stood next to Hildebrand on the podium in third place.

Bethany traveled to Connoquenessing Country Club for a quad match against Geneva, Carlow, and La Roche. Geneva entered two teams. Bethany also brought two teams, with the Bethany A Team bringing home the crown.

The Bison edged out the Golden Tornadoes in a tight race. The five golfers for Behtany ended the day with a combined score of 322. Geneva finished with a 324.

Sam Phillips, Nash Hays, and Macen Benderman joined Hildebrand and Smith in the leading squad. 

The Bethany B Team was led by Preston Lindsay who shot an 88. He was joined by Lincoln Pablo, Colby Vega, Troy Hixson, and Cooper Poe to combine for a 358. 

In the individual tournament, Hildebrand outshot everybody on the course, ringing in a 73. He was a whole three strokes better than the runner up, who came in with a 76. Smith followed directly behind with a 77.

INDIVIDUAL RESULTS :

 

Bethany will have to wait a week before teeing off again. They will travel to the Waynesburg Invitational for what is sure to be an all day affair next Monday. The first golf ball will be struck at 9:30 a.m.
