Titans Defeat Bison
Bethany, W.Va – The Bethany College women's basketball team returned to Hummel Field House for a PAC contest against the Westminster College Titans Saturday afternoon. The Titans used a strong first half to seal the win over the Bison, 74-50. Courtney Walker led the Green and White with 13 points and eight rebounds.
GAME OVERVIEW
The Bison opened up the game with a 5-2 lead. Bethany's Samaria Murry hit a jumper to get the Bison on the board. After an Abbey Dobbins free throw and a jumper later, the Green and White led at the 7:51 mark. Bethany led up until the five minute mark of the first stanza when the Titans took the lead after an old fashion three point play. Westminster took their first double-digit lead with 1:42 left, leading 17-7 and led 19-11 after the first stanza.
In the second stanza, Bethany allowed Westminster to continue to build on their lead. The Titans used a 6-2 run to push the lead to 37-24 heading into the intermission.
After halftime, the Bison looked to cut the Titan lead. Bethany outscored the Titans, 12-9, cutting the lead to ten (46-36), heading into the final stanza.
An Allison Kuhn layup brought the Bison within single-digits for the first time since the first stanza. However, the Titans closed out the fourth comfortably cruising by the Green and White and a 28-14 quarter. Bethany shot 32.1% (17-53) from the field while Westminster had a 45.8% (27-59) field goal percentage.
