Women's Basketball's Season Ends at Waynesburg

Waynesburg, Pa – The Bethany College women's basketball team traveled to Waynesburg, Pa to face the Waynesburg Yellow Jackets for the first round of the PAC Tournament Monday evening. The Yellow Jackets rolled past the Bison, 79-65 to end the Green and White's season. Courtney Walker led the Bison with 22 points.

GAME OVERVIEW

Courtney Walker got the Bison on the board first with a layup. It was the last time Bethany led in the game. The Yellow Jackets took the lead off of a three and never looked back. The Green and White trailed 20-9 with under a minute to go in the first quarter. The Bison took a 10-0 run ending the first quarter into the second quarter to pull within one, 20-19, off of the hands of Haylie Glass behind the arc. Unfortunately, on the next Waynesburg possession, the Yellow Jackets hit a three to end the Bison run.

The Bison and Yellow Jackets battled back and forth in the remainder of the second quarter with the Green and White trailing by four, 40-36 at the half. In the second half, Waynesburg stretched their lead to as many as 17 points. The Bison were unable to make a comeback with the game just out of reach.
