Women's Basketball Suffers Loss to Presidents

Washington, Pa. – The Bethany College women's basketball team traveled to Washington, Pa for a Presidents Athletics Conference (PAC) matchup with the Washington and Jefferson Presidents, Friday evening.  The Bison were led juniors Courtney Walker and Kelsie Meintel with 16 and 14 points respectively. The Green and White fell to the Presidents, 78-58.  

GAME OVERVIEW

Bethany College hit the first bucket of the game to take a quick lead. After the first two minutes of play, both teams exchanged the lead twice. After the second takeover by the Presidents, the Bison would trail for the remainder of the game.

In the second quarter, the Bison cut the lead to seven after a Courtney Walker three to make the score 23-16. The Green and White were unable to cut the deficit any closer. The Presidents pulled away taking a 15 point lead into halftime.

Turnovers and offensive rebounds proved costly to the Bison. The Presidents were able to convert 26 points off of 20 turnovers and scored 18 points on second chance opportunities.
