Strong Second Half Lifts Bearcats Over Bison

Bethany, W.Va. – The Bethany College women's basketball hosted the Saint Vincent Bearcats in a Presidents Athletic Conference (PAC) contest inside Hummel Field House Saturday afternoon. The Bearcats used a second half surge to win 72-59. Freshmen Makenzee Mason finished with 13 points.

GAME OVERVIEW

It was a back and forth battle in the opening six minutes of play with the Bearcats coming out on top. Courtney Walker hit a three to give the Bison a 7-6 lead with under seven minutes to go. It was a neck and neck battle until the 2:10 mark, where the Bearcats began to build a lead heading into the second stanza.

Saint Vincent began the second where they left off in the first. The Bison climbed back and cut the Bearcat lead to four after trailing by as many as 12 points. Makenzee Mason hit an old fashion three-point play to cut the lead to 29-25. Saint Vincent held onto the lead as Bethany would head into the locker room trailing, 36-32.

In the second half the Bearcats took advantage of a 12-5 run to hold a commanding lead over the Bison. Despite all efforts from the Green and White, the game was out of reach.
