WLAX: Bison Falls to Marietta

MARIETTA, Ohio – The Bethany College women's lacrosse team fell to Marietta Saturday, 14-4, in non-conference action. 

Senior Abbie Carpenter opened the scoring four minutes into a game, but the Pioneers answered with 11 straight goals, nine in the first period and two in the second period. She added her second goal of the game in the fourth period. 

Junior Lexie Reid and sophomore Tatum Severe added goals for the Bison. 

Senior Leah Crihfield finished with nine saves on 14 shots after entering the game in goal at halftime.  

INSIDE THE BOX & NOTES 

  • Carpenter has scored in eight straight games and in 15 of the last 16 games. She has scored at least two goals 21 times in her career. Carpenter has five goals through two games.  

  • Reid has scored a goal in five of the last seven games.  

  • Junior Madison Wagoner (0-1) made her first start of the season, and the third of her career. She finished with two saves on 11 shots. 

Bethany (0-2) travels to LaRoche 4 p.m. Wednesday in non-conference action.
