WLAX: Carter, Severe Combine for Six Points

PITTSBURGH, Pa. - The Bethany College women's lacrosse team hung tough for three periods, but ultimately fell to LaRoche Tuesday, 11-9, in non-conference action.

LaRoche took control of the game almost immediately after Bethany claimed its first lead, 6-5, in the third period. The Redhawks scored five of the next six goals to take a three-goal lead.

The teams alternated goals, scoring three each, through the first 20 minutes of the contest. LaRoche took the lead with a pair of goals before the Bison retaliated with a pair to tie the game at half.

Bethany took its only lead with a goal more than six minutes into the third, but the aforementioned goal barrage lifted LaRoche.

Junior Jada Carter led the way with three goals, while sophomore Tatum Severe tallied two goals with an assist. Junior Emily Wenger also scored twice for the Bison.

Senior Leah Crihfield finished with eight saves on 23 shots.

Bethany (0-3) hosts Ursuline 4 p.m. Friday.
