
WLAX: Bethany Falls to MSJ
CINCINNATI, Ohio – The Bethany College women's lacrosse team was outscored 5-2 in the fourth quarter, and fell to the College of Mount St. Joseph Monday, 12-10, on Schuler Field.
Bethany trailed for just one minute over the first three quarters as sophomore Tatum Severe scored less than 30 seconds into the game. The Bison led 3-1 after the first period.
MSJ controlled the second period, scoring four of the six goals, to knot the game at the break. The Lions took its first lead by scoring early in the third period, but Bethany quickly responded, scoring a minute later.
Severe finished with four goals and one assist, while junior Jada Carter added three goals. Junior Lexie Reid scored twice and freshman Makayla Summers tallied her first career goal.
The duo of senior Leah Crihfield and junior Madison Wagoner split time in goal, combining for six saves on 18 shots.
Bethany (1-4) travels to Louisville, Ky for a non-conference meeting with Spalding 2 p.m. Friday.
