Women's track & field competes at Mount Union Invitational

ALLIANCE, Ohio (Feb. 3) - The Bethany College women's indoor track & field team took part in the annual Mount Union Jim Wuske Invitational Saturday.

Senior Michaela Ross (Wahiawa, Hawaii/Leilehua) established a new personal-record in the mile run with a time of six minutes, 7.52 seconds to place 19th out of 37 participants. She also was a member of the Distance Medley Relay team which featured senior Elizabeth Timas (Middlefield, Ohio/Cardinal), junior Emily Duke (North Ridgeville, Ohio/North Ridgeville) and sophomore Amanda Gower (Washington, Pa./Trinity) that recorded a time of 14 minutes, four seconds to place second overall in the event.

Junior Patience Frazier (Washington, Pa./Washington) was the team's top-performer in the field with a new personal-record in the shot put. Frazier placed eighth in the event with a mark of 36 feet, five inches (11.10 meters).

Junior Leighanna Frantz (East Liverpool, Ohio/East Liverpool) claimed seventh in the high jump after she cleared four feet, 9.50 inches (1.46 meters), while senior Ashley Borsch (Edison, Ohio/Richmond) qualified for the finals of the 60-meter hurdles and placed sixth overall with a time of 10.18 seconds.

The Bison track & field team will have a short week to prepare for the Baldwin Wallace Mid-February Meet on Friday, February 9 in Berea, Ohio.
