GREENVILLE, Pa. (March 9) - The Bethany College women's outdoor track & field team was picked seventh in the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Preseason Coaches Poll announced the league office Friday morning.

Two-time defending indoor-champion Waynesburg was tabbed the preseason favorite to win the PAC Outdoor Championship by the coaches. Geneva, Westminster, Washington & Jefferson and Thomas More rounded out the top-five in the poll. The outdoor championships will be hosted by Westminster at Burry Stadium on Wednesday and Thursday, April 25-26.

In addition to the preseason poll, the league released its annual "Athletes to Watch" list, which included recent PAC Indoor Champion Leighanna Frantz (East Liverpool, Ohio/East Liverpool). Frantz defended her indoor title in the high jump last month and will look to reclaim her title as the outdoor champion. She won the event in 2016 and finished second at last year's outdoor championships.

Joining Frantz on the watch list were senior Ashley Borsch (Richmond, Ohio/Edison Local), junior thrower Patience Frazier (Washington, Pa./Washington) and sophomore sprinter Amanda Gower (Washington, Pa./Trinity).

The Bison will begin their outdoor season next week when they head to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina to compete in the Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational hosted by Coastal Carolina. The two-day event will begin on Friday, March 16.
