
Volleyball: Bison Fall to Presidents
WASHINGTON, Pa. – The Bethany College women's volleyball team traveled to Washington & Jefferson College for a non-conference tilt against the Presidents. The Presidents defeated the Bison, 3-1 (25-23, 26-24, 19-25, 25-19).
THE HIGHLIGHTS
- The Bison and Presidents went back and forth in the first set. The Presidents held a 22-16 lead until the Bison began to claw back into the match. The Bison climbed back to cut the lead 24-22, after back-to-back-back kills from Olivia Koehler and Riley Felton. Bethany cut the lead to one after a Felton and Halbritter block. The Presidents pulled out a set one win, 25-23.
- Bethany was in full control of set two, leading 11-6. After a Presidents' timeout, the Presidents battled back and took a 15-11 lead. Bethany cut the lead to 15-14 and both teams battled back and forth.
- Knotted at 21-21 in the second set, the Bison took three straight points to lead 24-21. The Presidents would not back down and knotted the set at 24-24. W&J took set two, 26-24.
- In the third set, the Bison cruised to an 11-4 lead. After a W&J time out the Presidents climbed back and deadlocked the set at 11-11.
- Bethany pulled ahead and maintained the lead to take set three, 25-19.
- In set four, both teams battled with the Presidents coming out on top, to take the final set 25-19.
INSIDE THE MATCH
- Olivia Koehler led the Bison with 21 kills and added 11 digs.
- Riley Felton led the Bison with six blocks.
- Emma Marthins added 12 kills and three blocks.
- Shayne Sanders and Asia Crim both had 17 digs and Anna Taylor added 15 digs.

The Bison return to Hummel Field House for a non-conference tilt against Chatham University on Thursday, Sept. 29 at 7 pm.
