Women's Volleyball: Bethany Wins Third PAC Title
GREENVILLE, Pa. – The #6 Bethany College women's volleyball team earned their third Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Championship after defeating Thiel College Saturday afternoon at Maenpa Court at Beeghly Gymnasium.
THE HIGHLIGHTS
- #6 Bethany 3, #1 Thiel 1 (19-25, 25-19, 25-21, 29-27)
- The Tomcats took the early lead, dominating the Bison for most of the first set.
- In the second set, Thiel started out strong, taking a quick 7-2 lead. The Bison battled back and tied the set at 8-8. It was a back-and-forth affair until the Bison took a 19-17 lead and later would take the set, 25-19.
- The Bison maintained the momentum while never trailing in the third set.
- The fourth and final set went down to the wire with the Bison winning, 29-27 to seal the victory.

- The Bison registered 52 kills and six blocks.
- The Bison hit .085 while the Tomcats .115.
INSIDE THE MATCH
- Emma Marthins led the Bison with 13 kills while hitting .242.
- Alaina Torres had 45 assists and 11 digs.
- Destiny Goodnight and Hannah Rogers had 11 and 10 kills, respectively.
- Asia Crim had a team high 22 digs followed by Anna Taylor's 16 and Sydney Kirkers 13.

WHAT'S NEXT?
As the winner of this year's championship tournament, Bethany will also receive the league's automatic qualifying bid to the NCAA Division III Championship. The PAC is one of 44 conferences granted automatic qualification (Pool A) to the Division III Championship.
Selections for the Division III Championship will be announced Monday, Nov. 7 at 1 p.m., with regional action slated for Thursday-Saturday, Nov. 10-12. Saint Vincent College and SportsPITTSBURGH will host the eight-team Division III Championship field Nov. 17-19 at Duquesne University's UPMC Cooper Fieldhouse in Pittsburgh.
