Volleyball: Bison Battle Back to Defeat Cougars, 3-2

BETHANY, W.Va. – The Bethany College women's volleyball team hosted the Chatham University Cougars inside Hummel Field House, Thursday evening. The Bison battled back after being down 2-0 to force a set five. The Green and White defeated the Cougars, 3-2 (22-25, 20-25, 25-10, 25-18, 15-9).

THE HIGHLIGHTS

  • The Cougars took the first two sets from the Bison.
  • In set three, the Bison jumped out to an early 7-2 lead and cruised through the set to win 25-10.
  • The Bison and Cougars went back and forth to start the fourth set. After being tied 4-4, the Bison scored six straight points to take a 10-4 lead. Chatham climbed back to cut the lead to three, 13-10.
  • The Bison rebounded and built the lead back to 19-11. The Bison took set four, 25-18 to force a fifth set.
  • In the fifth set, the Bison held a 6-2 lead with the Cougars clawing back to stay in the set. After the Cougars cut the deficit to 8-6, the Bison scored six straight points. The Bison held onto the lead to take the match.
