VB: Bethany Grad Named Head Coach

BETHANY, W.Va. - Looking to build on recent success, Bethany College Interim Athletic Director Jen Windmiller is announcing the hiring of Bethany graduate and two-time Presidents' Athletic Conference champion Riley Felton, BA '23, M.Ed. '25 as the new women's volleyball head coach.
Felton recently completed her first season as an assistant coach with the Bison.
"We are thrilled to welcome Riley Felton into a new role at Bethany College as the head coach of our women's volleyball program," says Windmiller. "As a two-time PAC champion and proud alum, Riley brings not only a winning pedigree, but also a deep passion for this institution. Her commitment to the holistic development of our student-athletes and her vision for a new era of competitive success make her the ideal leader to elevate our program."
Felton, at the age of 23, becomes the youngest head coach – in any sport – in the Presidents' Athletic Conference. She is one of the youngest NCAA head coaches in any sport nationally.
"I am incredibly honored to step into the role of head women's volleyball coach at Bethany College—a place I proudly call home," says Felton. "As a former student-athlete and assistant coach, our program has shaped me in countless ways, both personally and professionally. I'm deeply committed to building on its legacy and am dedicated to contributing to the continued success of the institution. I'm excited to lead a team that embodies pride, passion, and competitive excellence!"
A four-time All-PAC honoree as a middle blocker, Felton was a force for the Bison in her playing career. A three-year captain, she finished her career sixth all-time in assisted blocks, leading the Bison to the 2023 PAC championship as the tournament's Most Valuable Player. She also earned the spot as Bethany's PAC Scholar-Athlete and was a nominee for the NCAA Woman of the Year in 2023.
