PAC, ECAC select Alworth Rookie of the Week

DANBURY, Conn. (April 4) – Bethany College freshman pitcher Tyler Alworth (Brackenridge, Pa./Highlands) was named the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Rookie of the Week announced the organization Tuesday afternoon.
Alworth, who was selected as the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Rookie of the Week on Monday, notched his first-collegiate victory in Saturday's 2-1 game one win over Westminster. He limited the Titans to one run on four hits over 6.0 innings of work on the mound. The freshman totaled six strikeouts and did not issue any walks in the game.
Alworth becomes the first Bison baseball player this season to earn a weekly laurel from either the ECAC or the PAC.
Following their game today at Penn State Beaver, Alworth and the rest of the Bison will host Grove City for a single-game at Bethany Park that will begin at 4 p.m.
