Finelli Promoted to Assistant Athletic Director for Athletic Recruiting and Retention

BETHANY, W.Va. – Bethany College's Department of Athletics is pleased to announce the appointment of Alyssa Finelli as the assistant athletic director for athletic recruiting and retention, in addition to leading the Bison women's soccer program.

"I am incredibly excited to have this opportunity to work with our coaches, prospective athletes, and admissions team to help enhance the overall recruitment and athlete experience," says Finelli.

In her new role, Finelli will be tasked with assisting coaches with recruitment and retention, providing resources to potential incoming student-athletes and their families, and working closely with admissions staff to assist in the transition into higher education and athletics.

"I am pleased to announce Alyssa's promotion and excited to have her join our administrative team at Bethany," says Brian Sansom, director of athletics. "Alyssa brings an enthusiastic leadership style and strong work ethic that will help our department continue to grow and be successful. "

Finelli is entering her fourth season with the Bison. Six of her players have earned All-PAC Honors over the previous three seasons, led by Riley Meyers '21, who was a three-time All-PAC selection.

"I would like to thank Brian Sansom, President Jamie Caridi, and Jill Willson for entrusting me with this new role," adds Finelli. "While in this position, I will look to build upon the foundation that has already been laid and aim to create the best environment for our student-athletes."

Finelli joined Bethany in 2019, after earning her MBA in management from Seton Hill, and earned her undergraduate degree in psychology from Lafayette College. She resides in Bethany, W.Va.
