Windmiller to Attend Women Leaders in College Sports Convention

BETHANY, W.Va. – Assistant Athletic Director for Academics and Compliance and Senior Woman Administrator Jen Windmiller will represent Bethany College at the NCAA Division III Senior Woman Administrator Program from Oct. 7 to 11 in conjunction with the Women Leaders in College Sports Convention in Kansas City, Mo.

"I'm excited to represent Bethany College at this prestigious event," says Windmiller. "I look forward to networking with like-minded women and continue to build relationships with professionals that can help guide me both professionally and personally."

At the recommendation of the Division III Diversity and Inclusion Working Group, in 2016, the NCAA governance staff partnered with Women Leaders in College Sports to offer a new professional development opportunity for Division III Senior Woman Administrators (SWAs). Annually, Division III provides funding for 30 SWA's to attend a division-specific program. The program will alternate being held in conjunction with the annual Women Leaders in College Sports Convention (Oct.) and the NCAA Inclusion Forum (April).

"I know I will learn and acquire new tools, ideas, and programming that I can bring back to campus that our student athletes and staff will benefit from," adds Windmiller.

The program's goal is to provide professional development and networking opportunities for SWA's, in particular those seeking to become athletics directors and/or conference commissioners. Topics discussed will cover a variety of professional development topics that may include preparing your resume and cover letter for the athletics director search, networking, budgeting, and positioning yourself to become an athletics director, the presidents' perspective, working with and collaborating with athletics directors, and discussing the SWA's current role and responsibilities.

In addition to the scheduled Division III specific programming, participants will be registered to attend the Women Leaders in College Sports Convention or the NCAA Inclusion Forum depending on the host site of the program. All participants will receive a year's membership to Women Leaders in College Sports.
