Bethany College to Introduce Men’s Volleyball for 2023-24 Season

BETHANY, W.Va. – Bethany College Athletics is excited to announce the addition of men's volleyball to begin in 2023-24 academic year, making it the 21st varsity sport.  

"We are thrilled to announce the addition of men's volleyball to our athletic program offerings," says Brian Sansom, director of athletics. "It will give us an opportunity to expand the reach of our athletic recruitment and enrollment efforts." 

The men's volleyball season will commence early in the spring semester each academic year, opposite of the Bison women's volleyball counterparts. The team will utilize the Joe Kurey Memorial Court inside Hummel Field House.  

"Men's volleyball has grown in popularity at the high school and collegiate levels; the potential is there for our college to capitalize on this opportunity," adds Sansom. "I look forward to watching this program be built along with seeing it strengthen our academic and athletic profile while creating exciting new opportunities for current and future student athletes." 

With the announcement of men's volleyball, the Bison immediately begin searching for a head coach to help usher in the latest era of Bethany College Athletics.
