Men's Lacrosse: Smith sets all-time saves record; Bison fall to Terriers

BETHANY, W.Va. – The Bethany College men's lacrosse team hosted Hiram College on Don Ault Field at Bison Stadium, Wednesday evening. In a defensive battle, senior goalie Andrew Smith broke the all-time saves record after recording 28 saves on the night. He passed CJ Studnicky who held the record with 875 career saves. The Terriers won the defensive battle, outlasting the Bison, 5-3.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • The Terriers found the back of the net first scoring four minutes into the game. Raymond Rogers knotted the game at 1-1 with 8:08 to go in the first.
  • Hiram's lead swelled to three in the second quarter, but Bethany's Clay Yingling earned his firster point of the game after finding the back of the net. With under a minute to go in the half, Yingling found teammate Conor Sinclair who scored to bring the Bison within one.
  • The Terriers led 4-3 after the first thirty minutes of play.
  • The second half only saw one goal which was in favor of the Terriers.
