Women's Lacrosse: Bison fall to Wolverines

GROVE CITY, Pa.  – The Bethany College women's lacrosse traveled to Grove City College for a PAC contest Tuesday evening. The Wolverines cruised to a 16-4 victory over the Bison.  

THE BASICS

Final Score: Grove City 16, Bethany 4

Records: Grove City (7-9, 5-3 PAC), Bethany (5-11, 1-7 PAC)

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Grove City led 10-0 after the first half. They scored six goals in the opening period.
  • In the third, the Wolverines scored the first three goals, extending their lead to 13.
  • With 2:35 left in the period, Jada Carter found the back of the net on a free position shot. Less than a minute later, she scored again off a pass from Cassidy Mailloux.
  • Carter would score her third goal of the game to open up scoring in the final period of play. Alexa Taylor would score the final Bison goal of the game with 11:38 to go in the game.
  • The Wolverines added two more goals in the fourth, defeating the Bison 16-4.

BY THE NUMBERS

  • Grove City outshot the Bison, 24-10.
  • Both teams were even on turnovers at 22-22.
  • The Wolverines edged the Bison in caused turnovers, 11-10.

Bethany returns to the turf on Saturday, Apr. 29 when they travel to Thiel College to close out the regular season. First draw is set for 3 pm.
