Bethany drops regular season finale to Thiel 3-0

Oct. 28 - GREENVILLE, Pa. - The Bethany men's soccer team ended the 2016 regular season with a 3-0 loss to Thiel. 

With the loss, the Bison sit at 8-9-2 (4-4, PAC) and will be the fourth seed in the upcoming Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Tournament.

The first half saw 22 combined shots but the game was scoreless at the break. Bethany had chances in the eighth and 36th minute while Thiel had a chance in the 38th when Bison goalkeeper Michael Ceraolo(Weirton, W.Va. / Weir), who was making his first career start, made a great save keeping it scoreless. 

The game would stay scoreless until the 61st minute when Josh Ross put the Tomcats up 1-0, scoring off of a corner. They tacked on another goal just seven minutes later to gain the 2-0 advantage.

In the 74th minute, a header attempt by Ian Hayhurst (Fairmont, W.Va./East Fairmont) flew high keeping the score at 2-0.

The hosts would add a third and final goal in the 88th minute to close out the game. 

Jack Waters (Epsom, United Kingdom/Glyn School) took eight shots to lead Bethany while Ceraolo made seven saves in net.
