GREENVILLE, Pa. – The Bison were swept by the Thiel Tomcats.
Game one was a forgettable game, losing 20-3.
Leadoff hitter Sonny Peluchette was 2-3 with a pair of doubles, a run, and an RBI. However no offense would have been able to compete with the pile of runs given up.
Game two was slightly more promising for the offense. Bethany totaled 13 hits, four walks, and two free passes from getting hit by a pitch. They reached base safely five more times than Thiel.
The top two of the lineup– Mike Hines and Jaden Nestor-Fox– went 6-10 with a walk, a double, and a hit by pitch. Unfortunately, they were only able to score one run. The vast majority of the Bison offense came from the bottom pushing in the middle of the order.
Grant Schaffner scored three runs, going 2-5 with a double and an RBI. Devin Toothman reached base safely three times, going 1-3 with a pair of RBI and two walks.
Tyler McKee played an essential role in giving Bethany a five run lead. He cleared the bases in the bottom of the sixth with a three run double. Payton Davis singled to center driving in McKee, capping off a five run inning.
It was the bottom of the inning that did the Bison in. The Tomcats scored eight runs. All scoring ceased, and the Bison lost 11-8.
Bethany will host Westminster for another PAC doubleheader onWednesday.. First pitch is set for 1 p.m.
