Williams named D3football.com Team of the Week
The weekly accolades continue to roll in for Amarion Williams and the Bethany College football team.
Williams, the PAC Defensive Player of the Week, was named to the D3football.com Team of the Week, the organization announced today (September 10, 2024).
"We're all excited to see Amarion make the D3football.com Team of the Week," said Bethany College Head Football Coach Brandon Robinson. "He had a tremendous impact on the game this past week and it showed up on the stat sheet. Looking forward to him continuing to produce for our program at a high level."
Williams was a dominant force for the Bison as Bethany held Allegheny to just 30 yards on 42 rushing attempts (0.7 average) Saturday. He finished the season opener with career-highs in tackles (15), tackles for loss (5.5), quarterback hurries (four) and sacks (three). His 5.5 TFLs were the most by a PAC player in a game since October 8, 2022.
He is the 19th different Bethany player, 23rd different selection, to be honored on the weekly team. One player has earned the honor twice, and the BC offensive line (week 3, 2000; week 2, 2010) earned the accolade twice. Assistant coach Dadrick Vickers earned the award following his week 10 performance in 2019.
Bethany (0-1) travels to Case Western Reserve (1-0) 7:30 p.m. Saturday for its first Presidents' Athletic Conference road game.
