Phillips Named PAC Newcomer of the Week

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. - For the second time this season, freshman quarterback Brett Phillips has been honored by the Presidents' Athletic Conference for his play on the gridiron.

Phillips was named the PAC Newcomer of the Week after accounting for 478 yards of total offense in Saturday's loss to Geneva, the league announced today (Monday, November 4, 2024).

"Brett laid it all on the line this past Saturday," said Bethany College Head Coach Brandon Robinson. "Play in and play out he competed to get a win for his teammates. Although we came up short, he put on a special performance."

The newcomer from Wheeling Park was 17-of-30 for 361 yards with a career-high four touchdowns. He added 117 yards on 15 rushing attempts. He also claimed the PAC Newcomer of the Week honors following the opening week game against Allegheny.

Juniors Elijah Moffatt and Sonny Fox were named to the offensive and defensive honor rolls, respectively.

Bethany (0-8) travels to Saint Vincent 1 p.m. Saturday for its last road game of the season.
