Fox Named to D3football.com Team of the Week
Bethany College linebacker Sonny Fox has picked up national recognition for this performance this past weekend.
The junior linebacker was named to the D3football.com Team of the Week after tying a career-high with 15 tackles, seven solo, in Bethany's 21-13 win over Saint Vincent. The victory snapped a 27-game losing streak. Fox added 1.5 tackles for loss, one sack, and a forced fumble.
"Sonny did a great job of leading us to victory on Saturday," said Bethany College Head Football Coach Brandon Robinson. "He was all over the field making tackles and was a big part of all our special teams as well. Proud of the effort and toughness he showed this past week."
It marks the first time since 2015 that two separate Bethany players has earned recognition in the same season. Senior defensive end Amarion Williams was named to the team following his dominant week one performance.
He is the 20th different Bethany player, 24th different selection, to be honored on the weekly team. One player has earned the honor twice, and the BC offensive line (week 3, 2000; week 2, 2010) earned the accolade twice. Assistant coach Dadrick Vickers earned the award following his week 10 performance in 2019.
Bethany (1-8) concludes the 2024 season with a home date with Thiel College.
