Football Falls to Nationally Ranked W&J

WASHINGTON, PA – The Bethany College football team fell to nationally-ranked Washington & Jefferson Saturday, 48-7, in Presidents' Athletic Conference action at Cameron Stadium. 

Bethany's lone touchdown as freshman quarterback Brett Phillips connected with junior Todd Ary from five yards out in the fourth quarter. Phillips finished with 92 yards on 12 of 22 passing with three interceptions and was sacked seven times.  

Sophomore Luke Hilyard led the rushing attack with 48 yards on 11 carries, and he added nine receiving yards. Junior Elijah Moffatt hauled in three passes for a team-high 35 yards.  

Defensively, junior Sonny Fox registered a career-high 14 tackles, while senior Tsi Fofang had Bethany's lone sack. Fofang also finished with six stops.  

INSIDE THE BOX & NOTES 

  • Devan Colson recorded his second interception of the season. He has two of Bethany's three interceptions.  

  • Fox has four games this season with double-figure tackles.  

  • Ary is the fifth Bison to haul in a touchdown pass from Phillips.  

Bethany (0-7) returns home to face Geneva 1 p.m. November 2.
