Adames Goes Wild for 207 Yards

Freshman Ray Adames hauled in over 200 yards Saturday as the Bethany College football team rolled up 22 points against the country's top scoring defense.

However, the Bison fell to No. 8 Grove City, 62-22, in Presidents' Athletic Conference action at Don Ault Field on Bison Stadium. Grove City had allowed 14 points total in their first three games, but Adames was able to find the end zone on three separate occasions.

Adames finished with nine receptions on 207 yards in just three quarters of action, hauling in touchdown receptions of four, 72, and 90 yards.

Grove City opened up a 38-0 lead before Adames caught his first touchdown of the game. He added his other two scores on Bethany's first two possessions of the third quarter.

Freshman quarterback Brett Phillips finished 22-of-43 for 356 yards, three touchdowns and two interceptions. Junior Todd Ary, who made his first start of the season, added 63 yards on seven catches.
