HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Much like yesterday, the Bison got on the board quickly in the top of the first. Destiny Goodnight singled and stole second. • Allegheny tied a game on the same style of squeeze play in the bottom half of the inning.

  • The pitchers duel continued into the bottom of the fourth inning where Josie Wise had a monumental achievement The senior achieved her 500th career strikeout as she baited a Gator into chasing strike three.

  • Allegheny strung four hits together in the bottom of the fifth to push across two runs and take a 3-1 lead.

  • With their backs up against the wall in the top of the seventh, the Bison bats showed some life. Two Bison reached base safely through singles. Goodnight made contact and drove pinch runner Audrey Tobesman home.

  • With two outs and runners on the corners, Huey stepped up to the plate and roped a pitch into left center. However, Allegheny's center fielder Hadley Horensky made a diving play to save the tying run- and most likely go-ahead run with Goodnight's speed on first- from scoring.

  • A dramatic and unfortunate ending to Bethany's amazon season.
