SB: Bison Brings Halted Game to Quick End
WAYNESBURG, Pa. - In a conclusion of the suspended game on April 9, the Bethany College softball team didn't waste any time in bringing the game to a conclusion.
With the game knotted at eight to start the eighth inning, both teams adjusted their lineups to make up for some injuries and lineup tweaks.
Waynesburg started the inning with a two-base error and a bunt single. But Josie Wise brought the Bison to the cusp of escaping the scoring threat with back-to-back strikeouts.
Another error seemingly brought home the go-ahead run. However, the batter wasn't reported and was declared out.
Graduate Destiny Goodnight opened the bottom of the inning with a triple and scored the winning run on a Morgan Huey fielders choice.
Wise earned the win with 7.2 innings of relief, allowing eight hits with nine strikeouts.
