WLAX: Carter Nets 100 in Senior Day Dub

Junior Jada Carter became the second Bethany College women's lacrosse player to tally 100 career points as the Bison won on Senior Day for the second straight season, beating Geneva Wednesday, 14-1, in a weather-shortened Presidents' Athletic Conference game.

Carter's assist on the 14th and final goal of the game gave her 100 points. She finished the game with two goals and two assists. Carter currently has 85 career goals and 15 career assists.

Junior Janez Matthews scored three of the team's first six goals as Bethany raced to a 9-0 lead. The three goals tied her season total.

Bethany scored five goals in each of the first two periods for the 10-1 halftime lead. Junior Emily Wenger had two goals and two assists in the first half and finished with four goals and two assists for the game.

The Bison added four goals in the third period before lightning and heavy rain invaded the area bringing the game to an unceremonious halt.

Senior Leah Crihfield (1-7) finished with three saves on four shots. She was joined by seniors Abbie Carpenter and Kaidyn Orders in a pregame Senior Day ceremony.

Bethany (2-9 overall, 1-2 PAC) travels to Saint Vincent 2 p.m. Saturday.
