Oct. 21 – BEAVER FALLS, Pa. - The Bethany College women's soccer team was defeated, 8-1, by Geneva College in Presidents' Athletic Conference play on Wednesday afternoon.

The Bison (2-11-1) fell behind quickly as Geneva (7-6) netted two goals in the early goings. The Golden Tornadoes added two more scores to make it a 4-0 game at the intermission.

Geneva extended their lead with a goal in the 56th minute. The Bison, however, responded quickly as Madison Cochran (Grafton, W. Va./Grafton) found teammate Michaela Hinerman (Weirton, W. Va./Brooke) who beat the Geneva goalkeeper for the score. Hinerman has a team-high eight goals this season.

Despite totaling 16 shots, the Bison offense failed to capitalize on a scoring chance for the remainder of the contest. The two teams combined for 52 shots.

Sophomore Anna Riddle (Mt. Pleasant, Pa./Mt. Pleasant) replaced Sasak in the 72nd minute and recorded three stops for the Green & White.

Offensively, Julie Slezak (Latrobe, Pa./Greater Latrobe), Brittany Fullbright (Wadsworth, Ohio/Wadsworth) and Hinerman carried the Bison. Hinerman led the way with six shots while Slezak and Fullbright added four and three, respectively.
