Bison Women’s Soccer Defeated by Saint Vincent

Oct. 14 – LATROBE, Pa. – The Bethany College women's soccer team suffered a 6-0 loss to Saint Vincent on Wednesday afternoon in Presidents' Athletic Conference play.

The Bison (2-9-1) trailed early as St. Vincent (6-7-0) netted goals in the 14th and 16th minutes to take a 2-0 advantage.

Bethany was able to regroup and contained the Bearcat attack for the remainder of the half. St. Vincent took a two-goal lead into the intermission.

The Bearcats took control of the second half as two quick goals made it a 4-0 contest in the 55th minute. St. Vincent's Maggie Nelson added another score in the 79th minute, giving her a hat trick.

Offensively, the Green & White collected five shots. Juniors Brittany Fullbright (Wadsworth, Ohio/Wadsworth) and Julie Slezak (Latrobe, Pa./Greater Latrobe) each recorded a shot on goal.

Sophomore goalkeeper Taylor Sasak (Berea, Ohio/Berea) finished with eights saves. Sasak currently leads the PAC in saves this season, averaging over 11 per match.

The Bison will return to the pitch as they host Washington & Jefferson on Saturday, October 17 at 1:00 p.m.
