Bison Women’s Soccer Fall 4-2 to Chatham

Oct. 7 – PITTSBURGH, Pa. – The Bethany College women's soccer team fell 4-2 to Chatham on Wednesday afternoon.

Junior Brittany Fullbright (Wadsworth, Ohio/Wadsworth) gave the Bison (2-7-1) a 1-0 lead in the seventh minute of the contest. The goal marked Fullbright's sixth of the season.

Chatham (7-2) responded with a flurry of offense. The Cougars netted goals in the 17th, 22nd, and 27thminutes to take a 3-1 advantage.

The Bison generated multiple scoring chances and totaled 6 shots in the period. Sophomore goaltender Taylor Sasak (Berea, Ohio/Berea) was very active as she amassed 10 saves in the first 45 minutes of play.

Bethany struck first in the second half as Michaela Hinerman (Weirton, W. Va./Brooke) beat the Chatham keeper to make it a 3-2 game.

The Cougars were able to notch another goal in the 75th minute to extend their lead. The Bison recorded six more shots in the half but failed to tally another score.

Sasak had another strong outing, collecting 12 more saves. Sasak currently leads the Presidents' Athletic Conference in total saves this season.

The Green & White will be back in action on Saturday, October 10 when they take on Grove City at 3:30 p.m.
