DANBURY, Conn. (Oct. 24) – After helping the Bethany College women's soccer team break Thomas More's 55-match unbeaten streak in league play, senior goalkeeper Anna Riddle (Mount Pleasant, Pa./Mount Pleasant) was named the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Defensive Player of the Week announced the league office.

Riddle was also recognized on Monday as the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Defensive Player of the Week on Monday.

Riddle registered 13 saves in Saturday's 1-0 shutout of visiting Thomas More. The 13 saves were a career best in a victory and were just one shy of a season high.

The win snapped a five-match losing streak to Thomas More and also broke the Saints' 55-match unbeaten streak. Thomas More had not lost in regulation to a league-opponent since 2011 when Bethany earned a 2-1 win.

Riddle becomes the first PAC weekly award recipient for the Bison under second-year Head Coach Jon Arlet and the first since 2012 when former Bison Alaina Heck was named PAC Offensive Player of the Week in early September.

Riddle and the Bison will look to keep things going as they make a push for the PAC Tournament. The Bison will host Washington & Jefferson on Wednesday, October 21 at 4 p.m. on Hoag Field.
