Bethany Field Hockey Drops Decision to Washington & Jefferson

Oct. 20 – BETHANY, W. Va. – The Bethany College field hockey team dropped a 5-0 decision to Washington & Jefferson on Tuesday evening at Bison Stadium.

The Bison (6-12) trailed after the Presidents (7-7) scored in the early goings. Bethany continued to battle and the game remained a one-goal contest going into the intermission.

Washington & Jefferson added to their lead on a penalty stroke in the 43rd minute after a Bison defender was called for a foul in the offensive circle.

Bethany generated opportunities but the Washington & Jefferson defense held them at bay. The Presidents netted two more goals in the 56th and 65th minutes, along with another penalty stroke in the 69th minute.

Senior Courtney Snyder (Bristol, Pa./Bristol) finished the game with 12 saves and received help from sophomore Hunter Webster (Newark, Del.) who totaled two defensive saves.

The Green & White will be back in action for their final contest of the season on Sunday, October 25 against Sweet Briar College at 4:30 p.m.
